View and annotate DWG file in .NET

When I try to view DWG files, in the old annotation module, I get an “Failed to save document as PDF” error. Any idea on how to resolve this ?

Additionally, I am using the Groupdocs.Demo.Annotation.Webforms project which i downloaded from this url (Document Processing APIs for .NET and Java Platforms)

Has there been any progress on this ? It looks like I am also having issues with html files with this error “Unable to create an instance of the document. The format of the document is unsupported or the document is corrupted.” I have verified the format is supported and the document is not corrupt.

Apologies for a late reply.

If possible, you can upgrade to GroupDocs.Annotation for .NET 3.0.0 which is completely different from previous versions. In the versions starting 3.0.0, the UI has been decoupled from the back end document processing DLL to give developers more flexibility over performing document annotation in maximum possible development environments.

On the other hand, the UI part has been open sourced in the form of ASP.NET MVC example here: https://github.com/groupdocs-annotation/GroupDocs.Annotation-for-.NET/tree/master/Showcases

Since the 2.x versions will not be supported in future, we recommend you to upgrade to the latest 3.x versions to save your efforts.

So as stated in a previous comment, I am not using version 3.0.0 because it does not have support for all file types yet. I am still using version 2.1 and I cannot view DWG files. I realize I will need to update to the new annotation module at some point, but that is not viable at the moment because of the lack of file types supported at the moment.

Is not being able to view DWG files a known issue or what should I do to resolve this issue ?

Unfortunately, we can’t provide technical support in the versions older than 3.x because 3.x versions are completely revamped and different from 2.x versions. We plan to provide more support file formats in the upcoming 3.x versions, so at the best I can suggest you to wait for the next releases.
