PDF to HTML conversion issue in Java

Hello,

We have adjusted your .bat file according to our system and our example works well , as you can see on a screenshot from our terminal console.

So, as we understand, that your colleagues also can run the example with our library and only you have the issue when run it on your OS?

I suggest you take it back to GroupDocs - if this font is missing most likely there are others – windows does not show you the root cause but Linux does – he should be able to to provide a list of dependencies

Hello ,

We have attached our demo example to this thread. To run the example you should install our 3rd-party library from 'lib' folder via install_library.bat file. Then you can run the example via run.bat file . This example should convert one .pdf document into one .html document (with resources) and create log.txt file.

So please try run this example and come back to us with your log.txt file.

I had successfully tested it in my loacl,but a few small problems:

a> com.aspose.pdf.*

pdf to html ,test paging :

The first run, the file list:

toHtml1.html, toHtml2.html, toHtml3.html

The second run ,the file list:

toHtml4.html, toHtml5.html, toHtml6.html

But I hope the second run results is still that:

toHtml1.html, toHtml2.html, toHtml3.html

not is that:

toHtml4.html, toHtml5.html, toHtml6.html

How to set parameters, please tell me?

b> com.aspose.words.*

word to html, It is no paging technology.

But we want to implement paging, can you help me ?

In the end , I just test it(com.aspose.*) on windows 7(64) platform , no test on Linux. Is it suitable for the Linux platform?

As we understand, you have this font on your Windows OS, but the library doesn't find it. Is it correct? Did you try to change the fonts on those that we shared previously with you?

Hello,

Basically, this example, was created with the third-party library (Aspose) that used in our GroupDocs.Conversion for Java library and we had plans to recheck the Aspose library on your side. We thought that your issue depends from the Aspose library.

But, seems that on your side the demo example works well and we can assume that the issue (that you previously had ) depends only from our GroupDocs.Conversion for Java library.

Summing up: If you use demo examples with Aspose library, then the conversion from .pdf to .html format works well for you, but if you use demo example with our GroupDocs.Conversion library , then you have the issue with conversion from .pdf to .html . Is it correct?

Well in this case I have been trying it on Linux so I can help clarify what the requirements are to run this.

Both the groupdocs & aspose libs fail to convert the sample docs included with the example and both fail in the same way (more or less)

There are obvious dependencies on system fonts to use the conversion lib - how do I determine what they are ?

Also I came across some info for the annotator - which suggests it would be possible to override the fonts using getFontPath - is something like this possible with the conversion engine ?

Use of Aspose library ,the conversion(.pdf to .html , .doc to .html) is ok;

But Use of GroupDocs.Conversion library, the conversion(.pdf to .html , .doc to .html) is not ok.

The key is that:

testing Aspose library

a> test com.aspose.pdf.*

We have created a ticket for the issue and attached it to this thread. At the moment our Product team works on the new generation for the GroupDocs.Conversion library, so the issue should be fixed in it. We will notify you, when the library will be available.

Regarding support bigger file: Our library should supports this size , but the conversion can take a lot of time .

About Aspose libraries. Unfortunately we don't support these products, please send your request to Aspose support forum .

Below is another error I encountered after installing the true type fonts - although in the cause is the same the call stack is different.

I would say based on my limited experience working with your product - it would be useful to be able to specify a default font handler as there seems to be no way to predict which fonts are unavailable until you are actually parsing a doc which requires one - and in this case it is too late to handle it gracefully.
