Hello,
We are using below packages of GroupDocs and we couldn’t update to next version due to unspported .NET framework version. currently we are using 4.6.1
Do we still need to update the license if we are not updating version? our license expiry is on 20250110
Current GroupDocs Versions
GroupDocs.Conversion, Version=23.1.0.0
GroupDocs.Merger, Version=22.12.0.0
GroupDocs.Viewer, Version=23.6.0.0
@MeghanaVaitla
If you are not updating your GroupDocs version, you generally do not need to update your license as long as your current license is still valid and has not expired. Since your license is set to expire on January 10, 2025, you can continue using it with the current versions of GroupDocs you have listed, provided that those versions are compatible with your .NET framework version (4.6.1).
However, it’s important to note that if you decide to upgrade to a newer version of GroupDocs in the future, you may need to obtain a new license that corresponds to that version. Always ensure that your license is set correctly in your application to avoid any evaluation limitations.
If you have any further questions or need assistance with setting the license, feel free to ask!
@MeghanaVaitla
Could you please clarify if you intend to update the listed packages to the latest versions? Additionally, would you consider renewing the license if we provide assemblies compatible with .NET Framework 4.6.1?
@vladimir.litvinchik Thank you for the workaround.
sorry for late reply.so, you are saying you will provide a version for .NET 4.6.1 supported or you will provide the assemblies and we had to manually upload to our artifactory and use it?
@MeghanaVaitla
I’m sorry for the delayed response. What I was saying is that we can provide .NET 4.6.1 assemblies, but it will require some time to build, test, and ship them. The version of the assemblies would require you to renew your license, which is why I was asking if you’re planning to renew it or not.
- Our license expired today (January 10, 2025). Do we need to update the license to continue using the software, or will it still work?
- We have already obtained a new GroupDocs license that expires on January 10, 2026. If you provide the latest version DLLs that support the .NET Framework 4.6.1, will we need to request a new license, or will the current new license suffice?
Additionally, could you provide an estimated time of arrival (ETA) for the release of the latest version DLLs (.NET framework 4.6.1 supported)?
Note: We are not updating the new license because we are not upgrading to a new version now

You can continue using the license you have with the software you’re using at the moment and versions of the software that published before expiration date.

You do not need to request the new license. This one will work well.
Let me check with the responsible teams for the ETA and update you.
Do you download assemblies from releases.groupdocs.com or reference package from NuGet?
