.NET Document annotation API issues in Google Chrome

Hello,

I’m using groupdocs annotation 17.2.0.0. But there are some issiues. I make a two gifs about them. You can see them as attachment. I tried those issues with 17.3.0.0 but they’re not changed. Also i’m tested them with your front end mvc showcase.

When i try to use polyline, pointer or distance tool they are not showing correctly in web but after export with comments, they are shown in pdf as it should be. For example if you are using resource redaction tool, when you start selection it shows a temporary rectangle to show you which area you are selecting. But in these three tool it doesnt. Another issue is after selection operation complete, viewer doesnt show object. For example if i use pointer tool, after selection operation it shows only rectangle and it doesnt show pointer inside rectangle. If i export document with comments, pointer is looking well in pdf document. You can see this in “pointer.gif”.

Other issue is, when i try to use text annotation, strikeout, text replacement,text redaction or underline tool after export with comments. Acrobat Reader gives error for pdf. It give “Out of range” error. You can check it from "text-strikeout.gif"

Also in watermark tool we cant change font size bigger then 17. Can we change it and can we add custom colors? And can you add a position property like viewer (Diagonal, TopLeft, etc.)

We are sorry to hear that you are facing such issues. I have tested all the tools using our Showcase MVC example with GroupDocs.Annotation for .NET v17.2.0 and found its working fine. Kindly click here to view the running example with tools.

i have exported document with comments for pointer and found it is also working fine, please open attached PDF file and let us know if you are facing issue in opening this file with adobe acrobat.

Regarding Watermark text size, you can increase or decrease text size more than 17, resultant file (Annotated.pdf) is attached for your reference and other required properties like color, size and position are listed in this code snapshot.

We recommend you to get latest example code from Github and verify its working at your end, if you still faced these issues kindly do inform us.

Hello Muhammad,

After seeing your screenshots i realized you’re using Firefox. But i was using Chrome, than i tried them in firefox and they are working fine. Problems occurs in Chrome, can you please check them in chrome.

By the way i made my tests with lastest sample on github before sending those issue. I downloaded samples. MVC sample was build with annotation 16.11.0.0 but i upgraded it to 17.2.0.0. I’ve done nothing more then this.

Your pdf with exported comments working fine on my acrobat too. But i dont understand why its not working when i exported it. I didnt change anything in sample. I downloaded your sample today again, just built it and ran it but still i get same error. Which dll’s you’re using for exporting documents? I checked my windows GAC for aspose or groupdocs dll’s but there is none in GAC. I thought if there is a dll in GAC it might be different version and caused this issue but there is none aspose or groupdocs dll in my GAC.

Thank you for sharing details again.

yes i am using Firefox and GroupDocs.Annotation for .NET 17.2.0 API to test the application. I have tested our example project in Google chrome and found similar results as you shared in previous thread, We will investigate on it in details for this issue. Currently we recommend you to use Firefox with our example project. Kindly also note as it is open source example project you can also modify it as per your requirement with out our permission.

Regarding exported PDF file not opening in Adobe Acrobat Reader, we are still unable to reproduce this issue at our end as file exported using Google Chrome is also working fine at our end.
