I have a searchable pdf to display in the viewer. The search function is working in firefox, but not in IE11. Is there any browser limitation?

We are sorry to hear that you have this issue.
It is unclear about what specific search you are talking. There is a GroupDocs.Viewer search tool on the toolbar - it works in every browser regardless the rendering mode. Of course, the displaying document should have a text layer.
If you are talking about the browser-based search (Ctrl+F), then it is working only when using the HTML-based rendering mode. Once again, if the document has a text layer, it should be working in any browser including IE11.
If you have a situation when the search function is working in the Firefox, but not in IE11, then it seems that it is a bug. Please send us a document and a source code of the GroupDocs.Viewer widget for reproducing, investigating and fixing the problem.
