Dear GroupDocs customers,

We are pleased to announce the release of GroupDocs.Comparison for .NET 26.9. This release improves PDF comparison accuracy and performance, adds the ability to restrict external document resource loading, normalizes the order of deleted and inserted components in the diff output, and fixes several issues affecting Words, Slides, and PDF comparison.

:hammer_and_wrench: Key Features & Improvements

  • Restrict external document resource loading via LoadOptions (COMPARISONNET-4866): LoadOptions now includes SkipExternalResources and WhitelistedResources to control whether external resources referenced by a document (for example, linked images) are loaded during comparison. By default, external resources are not loaded; you can allow specific resources via the whitelist.

  • Normalized order of deleted and inserted components (COMPARISONNET-4897): The order of deleted and inserted components in the comparison diff output is now normalized for more consistent and predictable results.

  • Improved PDF comparison performance (COMPARISONNET-4892): PDF comparison is faster for documents with character-level text fragments.

  • PDF comparison fixes: Resolved several PDF issues, including replacement text overlapping the following line in inline comparison (COMPARISONNET-4896), lost line breaks inside table cells (COMPARISONNET-4893), the “Page have not room to place a paragraphs” exception (COMPARISONNET-3909), and improved accuracy for documents with tables (COMPARISONNET-2370).

  • Underlined text comparison (COMPARISONNET-2294): Fixed an issue where underlined text was not compared correctly.

  • NullReferenceException fixes: Resolved NullReferenceException errors during Words (COMPARISONNET-4887) and Slides (COMPARISONNET-4883) file comparison.
