We are pleased to announce the release of GroupDocs.Conversion for Java v26.10 . This release adds ISO and UUE conversion, introduces HEIC support through a configurable decoder connector, and provides options to remove document metadata. It also improves conversion reliability and fixes a licensing regression introduced in v26.9.
Key New Features
ISO Archive Conversion
Convert ZIP, 7z, TAR, and CPIO archives to ISO, and convert ISO archives back to these formats. ISO-to-ISO conversion is also supported.
Select the target format using CompressionConvertOptions.setFormat(CompressionFileType.Iso) .
UUE Conversion
New conversion options are available for UUE (uuencode):
- Convert UUE to Bzip2, Gzip, Lzip, LZMA, XZ, Unix Z, Zstandard, ZIP, 7z, TAR, CPIO, and ISO.
- Convert Bzip2, Gzip, LZMA, XZ, Unix Z, and Zstandard to UUE.
- UUE-to-UUE conversion is also supported.
Use CompressionConvertOptions.setFormat(CompressionFileType.Uue) to select UUE output. Lzip-to-UUE conversion is not supported.
HEIC Image Conversion
HEIC images can now be loaded using a configurable decoder connector.
Implement IHeicConnector and configure it through RasterImageLoadOptions.setHeicConnector(...) . A decoder implementation must be supplied to enable HEIC conversion.
Document Metadata Removal
New load options allow you to clear built-in and custom document properties when converting WordProcessing, Spreadsheet, Presentation, and PDF documents:
setClearBuiltInDocumentProperties(true)setClearCustomDocumentProperties(true)
Both options default to false .
Major Improvements & Fixes
License Activation Fix
Fixed a regression in v26.9 where the first License.setLicense() call could throw IllegalAccessError and leave the library in evaluation mode.
Conversion Reliability and Layout
- Fixed diagram-to-image conversion on macOS and Linux.
- Corrected page sizing, spreadsheet-to-PDF page setup, and preservation of source document margins.
- Fixed conversion of custom MPP columns and HTML-to-RTF conversion through PDF.
- Corrected extraction of text files embedded in Word documents.
- Fixed PDF document information retrieval and page selection.
- Improved file type detection and handling of explicitly specified formats.
Cancellation Handling
Improved cancellation propagation through conversion operations and savers. Cancellation exceptions are now propagated without wrapping.
Upgrade Notes
Nullable Page Margins
Margin getters in IPageMarginConvertOptions , PdfConvertOptions , and WordProcessingConvertOptions now return Float instead of float . Margins default to null , preserving source document margins where applicable.
Recompile applications against v26.10 and handle null before unboxing margin values. Set explicit margins if your application requires a fixed layout.
Spreadsheet Defaults
SpreadsheetLoadOptions.getAllColumnsInOnePagePerSheet() and getSkipEmptyRowsAndColumns() now default to false . Set the corresponding options explicitly to true if your application requires the previous behavior.
Email Load Options
The obsolete getDisplayEmailAddress() and setDisplayEmailAddress(boolean) methods have been removed. Use getDisplayFromEmailAddress() and setDisplayFromEmailAddress(boolean) instead.
