[Release] GroupDocs.Conversion for .NET v26.9 – Presentation to HTML Slideshow and New GIS & Archive Formats

Dear GroupDocs customers,

We are pleased to announce the release of GroupDocs.Conversion for .NET v26.9. This release converts presentations to HTML slideshows, adds KMZ, GeoJSON Text Sequence, GML and OSM XML for GIS documents and Apple Archive, ALZ and WIM for archives, and brings GIS conversion to .NET Framework 4.6.2. It also keeps each frame’s page size when converting multi-page TIFF files, limits evaluation mode to 10 conversions per process, and removes the API members that were marked obsolete in v26.6.

Key New Features

Presentation to HTML Slideshow: Set the new WebConvertOptions.SlideShow property to true to convert a presentation — PPT, PPTX, PPTM, PPS, PPSX, PPSM, POT, POTX, POTM, ODP, OTP or FODP — to a single HTML file that plays as a slideshow with its transitions and animations. Fonts, images, audio, video and styles are embedded in the file; the jQuery and anime.js libraries load from a CDN.

using (Converter converter = new Converter("presentation.pptx"))
{
    WebConvertOptions options = new WebConvertOptions { SlideShow = true };
    converter.Convert("slideshow.html", options);
}

New GIS Formats: KMZ and GeoJSON Text Sequence can now be loaded, and GML and OSM XML can now be produced, so every supported GIS source converts to GeoJSON, GML, GPX, KML, OSM and TopoJSON.

GIS on .NET Framework: GIS conversion is now also available on .NET Framework 4.6.2.

New Archive Formats: Apple Archive (AAR) can be read and written; ALZ and WIM archives can be read and converted.

Major Improvements & Fixes

Each frame of a multi-page TIFF now keeps its own page size and resolution when converting to PDF, to tagged PDF and page by page.

The correct page count is now reported for a multi-page TIFF.

Fixed PPTX files with double underline or double strikethrough producing invalid PDF coordinates on Linux.

Fixed converting a PDF with more than 4 pages failing in evaluation mode.

:warning: Breaking Changes

The members announced as obsolete in v26.6 are removed: IConverterListener and ConverterSettings.Listener, the ConverterSettings.OnConversionFailed, OnConversionByPageFailed and OnCompressionCompleted properties, the fluent .OnCompressionCompleted(...) after .Compress(...), the fluent handler interfaces IConversionHandlerSetup, IConversionHandlerFailed and IConversionHandlerCompleted (and their by-page counterparts), and PageSize / PageWidth / PageHeight on CadConvertOptions and EBookConvertOptions. Use ConversionEvents (or FluentConverter.WithEvents(...)) for events and SizeSettings for the page size; chained calls such as .WithOptions(...).OnConversionCompleted(...).OnConversionFailed(...).Convert() compile unchanged.

var options = new CadConvertOptions
{
    SizeSettings = new PageSizeOptions { PageWidth = 800, PageHeight = 600 }
};

Without a license, a process can now run at most 10 conversions; the 11th throws EvaluationLimitReachedException. Every Convert call counts, including calls that fail, while GetDocumentInfo() and IsDocumentPasswordProtected() do not. The trial page limit now also applies when converting PDF to Web formats. Applying a license removes the limit.
