Hi everyone,

GroupDocs.Parser for Python via .NET version 26.10 is now available on PyPI.

:link: Release notes
:package: PyPI
:books: Docs

Highlights

  • Extract annotations from PDF, Word and PowerPoint with Parser.get_annotations() and TextOptions.include_annotations.
  • New groupdocs-parser command‑line tool for text, info, metadata, images, annotations and format listing.
  • Pass plain Python functions to PreviewOptions for preview callbacks (removed ICreatePageStream, IReleasePageStream, IPreviewPageRender classes).
  • OCR now supports Arabic (Language.ARA) and Korean (Language.KOR).
  • Extract tables from HTML documents via Parser.get_tables().
  • Apply a license automatically from the GROUPDOCS_LIC_PATH environment variable.
  • Single wheel per platform supports Python 3.5 – 3.14; platform tags updated to manylinux_2_27_x86_64, macosx_13_0_x86_64, macosx_13_0_arm64.
  • Engine errors raise GroupDocsParserException and its subclasses instead of generic RuntimeError.
  • Assigning unknown attributes now raises AttributeError rather than creating silent Python‑only attributes.
  • 32‑bit Windows wheel removed; installation requires pip 20.3 or newer.

Breaking changes (see release notes for migration details):

  • ICreatePageStream, IReleasePageStream, and IPreviewPageRender classes are removed; use plain functions with PreviewOptions.
  • Engine errors now raise GroupDocsParserException, InvalidPasswordException, CorruptedDocumentException, or UnsupportedDocumentFormatException instead of RuntimeError.
  • Misspelled or unknown attribute assignments raise AttributeError.
  • The 32‑bit Windows wheel is no longer provided; pip ≥ 20.3 is required to select the correct wheel.

Install:

pip install groupdocs-parser-net==26.10.0

As always, feedback and bug reports are welcome in this category.

Best regards,
