[Release] GroupDocs.Redaction for Java v26.10 – Custom PDF Redaction Handlers and OOXML Compliance

Dear GroupDocs customers,

We are pleased to announce the release of GroupDocs.Redaction for Java v26.10. This update brings custom redaction handlers for PDF, OOXML compliance control when saving Word documents, and more reliable handling of spreadsheet and text-only formats.

:rocket: Key New Features

  • Custom PDF redaction handlers — Implement ICustomRedactionHandler to decide, for each matched text fragment, whether to apply a redaction and what replacement text to use. Attach your handler via ReplacementOptions.setCustomRedaction(...) and use it with PageAreaRedaction (ideal for rule-based or AI-assisted workflows).
  • OOXML compliance on Word save — Control the compliance level through SaveOptions.getWordprocessingSaveOptions().setOoxmlCompliance(...) using WordProcessingComplianceLevel (Ecma, Transitional, Strict). If unset, the original document level is preserved.
  • Broader spreadsheet format handling — Improved detection and original-format save paths for spreadsheet templates and related formats (including XLSB / XLT* / OTS-style workflows).

:hammer_and_wrench: Major Improvements & Fixes

  • Smarter CSV/TAB redaction — Image-style (draw-box / colored rectangle) text redactions are skipped for text-only spreadsheet formats that cannot represent them.
  • More predictable text/spreadsheet output — Hardened format handling so plain-text and tabular documents are less likely to be saved under the wrong package type.
