Viewer capabilities

Hi,
We are considering purchasing groupdocs viewer and we have some questions: to ensure it fits our needs:

  1. does groupdocs viewer support JPEG2000?
  2. does groupdocs viewer support zoom for images (like jpg)?
  3. does groupdocs viewer support multiple files? if so how? (pages? one after the other?)
  4. does groupdocs viewer support full-screen mode?
  5. does groupdocs viewer support Hebrew and RLT languages?
  6. does groupdocs viewer support downloading the original file?

Thanks,
Omri

@omri.suissa,

Thanks for taking interest in GroupDocs.Viewer. Please note that GroupDocs.Viewer is a back-end, UI-less API which allows you to render the document as PDF document or in the form of HTML pages or images. When you render a document in HTML based rendering or image-based rendering, each page of the source document is converted into an HTML page or an image file. You will have to create your own front end application to view/display the HTML pages or images rendered by GroupDocs.Viewer.

Currently, GroupDocs.Viewer doesn’t support JPEG2000 files. However, I have logged it in our Issue Tracking System (with ID: VIEWERNET-1430) as as new feature request. In case we would have any plans to provide the support of this file format, we’ll inform you here.

This feature is not the provided by GroupDocs.Viewer API as it can be implemented in the front end application i-e using jQuery.

Would you please elaborate this scenario and provide us more details on it?

This feature is also implementable in the front end application and is not provided by GroupDocs.Viewer API.

Yes, GroupDocs.Viewer provides the support of rendering documents containing Hebrew and RLT languages.

Yes, GroupDocs.Viewer provides the feature to get/download the original document/file.

Please mention the platform (.NET, Java or Cloud) for which you want to use the GroupDocs.Viewer API. It will help us to guide you more specifically.

Hi,
We are considering using .net platform.
JPEG2000 is a show stopper for us, do you have a timeframe for supporting this format?

Thanks,
Omri

@omri.suissa,

Thanks for your response. I am afraid that currently, we can not provide you any timeframe for supporting this format. As soon as we have any updates, we’ll share that with you.

@omri.suissa,

The support of JPEG2000 format that you requested earlier (filed as VIEWERNET-1430) has been included in this update.
