Viewer and Compare problems

Hello Gianluca,

Thank you for using GroupDosc.Viewer.

In the new version of the GroupDocs.Viewer which we have shared for you, was fixed only the bug for IE 9 in Quirks Mode/IE8 and could you please specify, did you still get the same issue on your side ? And did you try to clear the browser cache and rebuild the solution after you added new version of GroupDocs.Viewer to dependencies?

Please come back to us with this details and we will be glad to help you.

Best regards

The bug about pdf characters bad rendering can be still replicated with the sample doc i uploaded to you some time ago. For the ie9 txt bug i can replicate it, maybe for the use of virtual scrolling that for us must be on for performances.

The bug list of 2.12 release doesn’t contain any other bug fix that we requested. In how many time will be virtualscrolling issues resolved? this situation begin to be very difficult and a big loss of time for me as developer to test for many hours the dll at every release.
Please think about a compatibility matrix done in fase of quality test to know which browser support every functionality with no problems.

Gianluca

Hello guys,

we are here to ask you again when you think you will solve the problems we reported some months ago (in this post and in the post http://groupdocs.com/Community/forums/2/7432/document-view-layout-errors/showthread.aspx)

With the latest version (2.15.1) the problems with ie9 and with the visualization of various pdf are still present. The only thing that has been resolved is the lag time in .eml files.

Our customers are still pressing for a solution of the problems.

The problem is that if we change a certain setting of the viewer, it is very likely that another problem arises and so on. Is there a final solution in order to display at least most of the cases that we have reported? (we refer in particular to the various display problems with pdf files).

Hi again,

Please clean the solution, delete all cached from the browser and from the IIS (if you run the application on IIS), remove temp folder in the root storage of the Viewer, also delete all from these folders:
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET Files
and
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET Files

In these two folders also stored cache of the solution.

As for the issue with virtual scroll our product team works on it and it will be resolve very soon.

Then rebuild the solution

Hello Gianluca,

Thank you for the question. the issue WEB-1729 will be resolved in the 2.16.0 version which will be released in the end of this month. All other issue WEB-1597 WEB-1710 WEB-1720 are fixed. We double checked them using your project example (IFrameViewer) and documents that you shared with us earlier - all works well, there is no console errors for xlsx and pdf (BlueDrive) rendered well.

Since you have rendering issues with some pdf files - please share them with us and if your have made any changes n the project which doesn’t showed in the project that you shared with us then please notify us about these changes.

Best regards.

I did all this steps this morning after download the new dll. I did it now for a second time for test but txt still have problems in ie9 (with virtual scrolling on)

Ok. Can you give me the description of the bugs mentioned? So we can understand what you have solved.

Thank you

Hi,

The previous post was for the issue with the pdf rendering that you said that it’s still reproducible.

Thank you.

Hello Gianluca,

Yes sure:
1. WEB-1597 - Displaced characters when displaying specific PDF in the HTML-mode
2. WEB-1710 - With eml files the date is not right
3. WEB-1720 - in IE10, using htmlEngine and virtual scrolling, problems with xslx files. In console there are javascript errors of this kind : "SCRIPT5022: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: “<div…”. If disable HtmlEngine, xsl files are displayed in different pages.
Also in the word document tables rendered with out lines.

Best regards.

sorry for the wrong info , but it’s still reproducible the pdf char bug too

Hi, I have to report another problem detected from a customer.

When displaying tiff file, the document is zoomed in but actually the format of the document is smaller then the real one, so if you try to print it from inside the viewer, you get the document miniaturized.

P.S.
On 11/09/15 I email you with another problems and 2 pdf attachments. I email you because from the reply to the post I was not able to attach these files. Can you also respond to that?

Thank you

Hi Gianlica,

We have provided additional testing and the pdf rendered well for us. Also we have found out that in your example project you have added the library as a file? not as a reference link and since that when you change the library it still uses the old version of the library.

Please download updated version of your project here and try with it.

As for the issue with virtual scrolling - we have fixed it and will share library with you today a little later.

Thank you.

Can you confirm that all the bugs reported by us will be fixed with 2.16 version?

For us is very important that the displaying of pdf, docx, xslx, tiff is correct for IE9,10,11 and Firefox.

In particular with IE9 we still have problems when viewing files inside an iframe.

About pdf files, actually we use UseHtmlBasedEngine(true) with the second option (UsePngImagesForHtmlBasedEngine) set to default that is false. With this options pdf1 is displayed but pdf2 have problems and with IE9 this file (pdf2) is not displayed at all inside an iframe. If we try to set UsePngImagesForHtmlBasedEngine to true, pdf1 is not displayed at all and we get for all browsers:

Application error

System.ArgumentException: Parameter is not valid.

at Groupdocs.Web.UI.Handlers.BaseHandler.OnException(Exception exception, HttpContext context)

at Groupdocs.Web.UI.Handlers.ViewDocumentHandler.ProcessRequest(HttpContext context)

at System.Web.HttpApplication.CallHandlerExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute()

at System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously)

instead with IE9 with pdf2 displayed inside an iframe we don't have problems.

Please check also this case.

Thank you

Hi again,

Here is a fixed version . Please try to set virtual scrolling true and try your txt and xlsx files.

Thank you.

Hello Gianluca,

Thank you for the request. We have checked pdf documents from the email with “IframeViewer” solution that you have shared with us some time ago and the Viewre 2.15.1 - as you can see from this screencast the pdf2.pdf is rendered well in the iframe and IE9 ( .UseHtmlBasedEngine(true) ).

Since you want to know will the issues be fixed in the Viewer 2.16 I can assume that the issues list that I shared in the previous post are still presents in the Viewer 2.15.1 on your side, is it true? Also the last not fixed ticket ( WEB-1729 - Headers are overlapped in a PDF in the HTML mode) sorry but I can’t say if it will be fixed in the Viewer 2.16 with 100% sure.

Also as for the issue with tiff printing - are you about these indents ?

Thank you.

Hi, i tried the fixed version but with IE10 still get this error (with virtual scrolling on and xsl file)

Hi, yes we still have that problems, except for the eml date. However they seem resolved with the new version, we wait it with trepidation.

About tiff printing, yes, the document is displayed inside that indents.

Thank you

Hello Gianluca,

Can we make a TeamViewer meting on Tuesday?
